Software for children’s health puts Ologa in the world’s top 3 SMEs competition

Ologa Sistemas Informáticos, a company that has Gapi-SI as its shareholder, is one of the three Global SMEs with the greatest potential for expansion worldwide, together with Talamus Health of the USA (winner of the category) and the company Dropque of Nigeria, according to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the UN agency responsible for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) issues.
This recognition was achieved during the 4th edition of the ITU – Telecom World Awards, held from 10-13 September in Durban, a prize for which more than 200 companies from around the world competed.
ITU Telecom World is a global platform for accelerating ICT innovations. It aims to deliver economic development and social good through its exhibition for digital solutions, forum for sharing knowledge, and networking hub connecting nations, organizations and individuals.

In this event, Ologa, represented by its Director, Mulweli Rebelo, presented SureTrack – a monitoring & evaluation and case management software for projects related to health and social impact as one of its digital solutions. This solution is targeted at orphaned and vulnerable children with a primary focus on HIV victims.
“It is my sincere hope that the global recognition of ITU Telecom World Award from an international panel of experts will help these talented entrepreneurs to scale-up and take their business on a global stage” – said ITU Secretary-General, Houlin Zhao.
Mulweli Rebelo believes that “this position represents the acknowledgment by specialists of the great work we have been developing to use ICTs to contribute to facilitating and improving the lives of people, in this particular case of vulnerable children. It is also a great responsibility, because it means that we have a product that can be expanded on a global scale.”
Ologa has been in the Mozambican market for 7 years and since the beginning has earned the trust of big companies seeking technological solutions developed by this company where Gapi-SI is a shareholder and has always provided support since its inception. In the case of SureTrack, the Government of Mozambique is already a partner through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Action and other multilateral organizations such as FHI360, USAID, Care, World Vision and private institutions such as Gapi, Momentum, Nokia, among others.

It is important to note that Ologa has already won the prize for the most innovative company in Mozambique, in the “100 Best SMEs of Mozambique” competition, co-organized by the SOICO group and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. This company was also a finalist in the African Entrepreneurship Award through a health-related solution.
