In the context of the violent disaster caused by cyclone IDAI, Gapi’s Board of Directors expressed its deepest condolences to families for the human and material losses in the Central region of Mozambique. At this moment the priorities are rescue and humanitarian assistance of the people concerned, Gapi is involved in solidarity and support for the victims of this tragedy.
This disaster comes at a time when Gapi and partners have been implementing several Small Business structuring programs and projects that secure jobs and energize the local economy.
These interventions, which take place throughout the country, focus on sensitive social segments such as youth and entrepreneurial women and sectors focused on agricultural innovation, with a view to achieving food and nutritional security and generate more income. As well as in the expansion of the network of rural financial services and rural commerce. These interventions have as their common goal a strategy to promote social and economic inclusion.
As a way for Gapi to associate itself with the solidarity movement that goes through the Country, Gapi will support the resurgence and recovery of the small businesses affected by this tragedy as it has done in previous situations.
